SIOM’s flagship programme, MBA in Operations Management, along with newly launched Dual Degree M.B.A. (Operations Management) and MSc Management (Supply Chain and Logistics) with Durham University, U.K, empowers engineers with sharp engineering and scientific capabilities clubbed with smart business management disciplines. SIOM’s MBA in Agri Operations Management strives to build operations professionals in the field of agro-based industries, developing relevant skills specific to the sector. All the programmes focus on building Operations and Supply chain capacities and capabilities.

The students are trained to tackle planning, development, and implementation tribulations that organizations might confront. The curriculum deals with topics such as Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Technology Management, Modeling dynamic systems, Operations analytics, Six Sigma, Strategic Management, and Leadership & Capability development courses. SIOM supplies competent leaders in operations management & Agri-operations management to the corporate world, who would contribute to the bottom line without longer gestation periods.

The learning modules are designed in a manner to create the Niche. SIOM is a unique B-school with a 100% focus on Operations Management Industry linkage for training. The corporates are integral stakeholders with the institute, responsible for nurturing students so that they are industry-ready. Engagements with premier organizations are a part of the curriculum.

The Programme opens up opportunities for students to acquire world-class certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, PMI. The curriculum is linked with the respective body of knowledge. A huge thrust is placed on experiential learning through industry visits, mock investor summits, and projects conducted through Project-Based Learning, Semester practical assignments, internships, and integrated projects for minor specialization streams.

Students also have the opportunity to opt for the International student exchange program and a semester abroad program. SIOM is the only Business School that expects students to complete the Six Sigma Project towards the award of the Black Belt certification. This ensures the linkage of classroom inputs with the real world. The M.B.A. (Operations Management) program and Dual Degree M.B.A. (Operations Management) and MSc Management (Supply Chain and Logistics) are a balanced mix of exposure to all sectors, including Retail, Logistics, IT, Consulting, E-commerce, Infrastructure and Healthcare, covering integrated perspectives on each domain, whether IT, Marketing, Finance, or HR. The SIOM Operations Management specialization empowers each engineer with sharp engineering and scientific capabilities along with smart business management disciplines. Objective of the Programme:

M.B.A. (Operations Management) is designed exclusively for Engineers to meet the needs of operations expertise and competencies in diverse sectors of the economy, viz. Manufacturing, Service, IT, FMCG, E-commerce and Consulting. The objective is to develop amongst the students an in-depth strategic understanding of operations systems, their components, contributions, and interactions with other functional areas, and the analytical tools necessary to address both strategic and tactical issues, especially catering to the dynamic global business networks addressing the function of efficient Operations processes and systems related not only to manufacturing and services but also the booming e-commerce sector.

The curriculum motivates the students to understand the business environment holistically and tries to impart problem-solving skills with respect to the core values and changing times of the market.

ELIGIBILITY

M.B.A. (Operations Management)


Engineering Graduate (Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology) from any recognised University/ Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes).

M.B.A. (Agri Operations Management)


Graduate from any recognised University/ Institution of National Importance in with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).

M.B.A. (Operations Management) (Dual Degree with Durham University UK)


Eligibility Requirement at SIU (as per SIU norms)- • Candidate should be an engineering graduate (BE/ B Tech of any stream) from a statutory University with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). • Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in their qualifying examination. • A candidate who has complete qualification from any foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
